You can manually input your data by typing into the fields, or you can electronically import data into GEM from Outlook at the click of a button. GEM also has an import routine that enables you to import names and addresses from any legacy system that is ODBC compliant, which these days is just about anything.   

The complexity of doing this varies depending on the quality and organisation of the data in the old system.
